Development of EUA & Secondary CERs

Last week, EUA spot prices were decoupled from energy and commodity prices. The lowest price was realized below 13 € on Thursday with 12,95 €/EUA. The CO2 market required a price directions from last week’s Point Carbon conference in Amsterdam, but it did not transpire. Analyst Trevor Sikorski told Reuters at the conference that in a healthier economy there was currently a floor under prices at around 12 €/EUA. The EUA-CER spread became smaller compared with the week before and amounted to around 1 €. Starting in this newsletter, price information just refers to greenmarket data.
